Hello sir... This is Dr Vignesh residing at Madurai, owner of TN 76 AV 4476... This car was driven by my friend Dr Karthikeyan who met with an accident near perungudi(near Madurai airport) who died on the spot on the spot on 20/12/2021.. video clip and pictures attached... While driving he wore seat belt... With this much great impact air bag didnot open.. May be if airbag opened, he may survive with grievous and fatal injuries rather than death... My question is why the airbag didnot open?? Spending around 10 lakhs of money in this sedan car is only for safety... Not even the airbag opened.. then what is the point of spending 10 lakhs here?? No point of safety also... I'm not at all going to leave this simply... Need proper reply from your team...

Dear Sir,

This has reference to your trailing mail regarding your Honda car.

Before going into details, we hereby would like to explain the airbag functioning.

The airbags are part of the ‘Supplemental Restraint System’(SRS). In case the system detects a moderate to severe frontal collision it activates the airbags which rapidly deploy so as to prevent major injuries to the occupants. The airbags deploy based on the rate of deceleration during the impact i.e. how fast the car comes to a halt in front direction. The SRS (airbag) is required to come into effect only when the impact of collision and the resultant deceleration is large enough such that the primary restraining system of the seat belts would be ineffective.



The crumple zones are areas of a vehicle that are designed to deform and crumple in a collision. This absorbs some of the energy of the impact, preventing it from being transmitted to the occupants. Crumple zones work by managing crash energy, absorbing it within the outer parts of the vehicle, rather than being directly transferred to the occupants, while also preventing intrusion into or deformation of the passenger cabin and this protects car occupants against injury.



In line to on site inspection conducted by our technical team various aspects of the car were inspected. We would like to summarize our observations as follows:

During the inspection, it was observed that the car had suffered a major impact from the left hand side of the car body structure.
Crumple zone is found to be intact .
Major impact was not observed on the bulkhead. It is evident that the crash is not frontal in nature.
The nature of vehicle damage and on site observation suggest that the impact area is _30 degrees from front face in this case and the SRS airbag deployment conditions were not met.


With the inspection of the car our team was completely convinced that the SRS system has performed normally and since the required conditions were not met hence Air bag were not deployed.

Attaching my vehicle's picture after accident.....

This is the car's front view... Still you are saying impact is more than 30° or something.. Ok whatever the initial impact is at the front as well as side(more than 30°) why the airbag didnot open while it hits the front... It's clearly seen that nothing left in the front portion... And you people are still saying there is no damage happened to the front... Did you see anything there in the front?? I couldn't be able to find anything in the front...
Please look into this and give me a solution sir...
