I have purchased a Sony Bluetooth speaker from Croma and the same has stopped working.
I complained about the same and Sony Service Center and I was informed that they do not repair the same.
When I told them its not even been a year or two so how can they deny repairing the same, I was informed that its the policy of the company to not repair the Bluetooth Speakers.
I was suggested to buy a new Bluetooth speaker SRS-XB33 (MRP: Rs. 15,990/-) and the company will provide a 40% discount on MRP of the new speaker. I first asked to pay around Rs. 9594/-.. When I informed the sony team that the same speaker is alreadt avaiable online at the same price and if i calculate the bank offer its even cheaper than what I am asked to pay. As why should i be paying such a huge cost when the same should be repaired. The service center informed me that they dont have any parts for the speaker and the company doest provide the same and it is for everyone.
So basically Sony is forcing us to buy a new speaker and doest want to provide parts or repair the bluetooth speakers.
This is completely illegal and no where it is mentioned that the speaker is use and throw and cannot be repaired once it is faulty.
I informed Sony that a similar complaint was filed by another customer of sony and at that time the consumer court had fined Sony for not repairing the product and informed the sony team to not repeat the same again the sony team informed me that they still cannot do anything and I will have to buy a new speaked only thing they can do is give an additional discount as a good will gesture but that is all they can do.
Sony made me feel like they are doing a charity and I immediately rejected the same and informed that i am forced to file a complaint the consumer court but still the team didn't try to resolved the issue instead they informed me that its is a special time bound offer and that once the time expires they would not be able to offer any discount and that i will have to bear the full cost of the speaker or throw it away. This made me feel very angry and that is why my complaint.
I would therefore like to file a complaint against Sony for forcing a customer to by a new speaker and not repairing the same. I would also like to file a complaint against sony for thinking they are over and above the law and there is no law in india who can force us to repair the products. Sony has been fined before for the same and still continues to do the same.
Hoping to see legal action taken against Sony and fined for such audacity of going against the law of india.
