Complaint Details
My case is very straightforward and the sequence of events is as follows:
• The ticket was booked for a holiday trip.
• Around two weeks before travel, the war situation involving UAE, Iran, Israel, and the USA escalated, severely affecting flight operations.
• My travel was booked on Qatar Airways for 15th March.
• I received official communication from Qatar Airways stating that due to flight cancellations and the prevailing war situation, passengers were eligible either for a free date change or a full refund without any cancellation charges.
• Based on this, I initiated the cancellation request on 10th March through MakeMyTrip. Your representative clearly confirmed that my booking was eligible for a full refund and informed me that the request had been processed accordingly.
• However, I later received the refund after deduction of Rs. 52,367/-.
• Since then, I have patiently followed up through multiple calls and emails. Different representatives including Ms. Priyashree Nayak, Ms. Renu Kashyap, and others have repeatedly informed me that the matter is still being checked with the airline. I was also provided Ticket No. 2334140587344064 during these interactions.
• On directly checking with Qatar Airways regarding PNR 99BI9J, I was clearly informed that no refund claim or pending case exists from MakeMyTrip’s side.
