Dear Sir/Madam,
I wish to lodge a complaint regarding the collection of an additional seat selection charge for my upcoming journey, despite already having paid for the seat at the time of booking.
Travel Details:

• Date of Travel: 03 Oct 2026

• Booking Platform: MakeMyTrip
At the time of ticket booking through MakeMyTrip, I paid the full fare along with the applicable seat selection charges and was allotted a specific seat by Air India. However, while attempting web check-in today, I was surprised to find that the same seat was again shown as chargeable, requiring an additional payment of ₹400.
Upon contacting the MakeMyTrip customer care executive, the issue was acknowledged and I was advised to make a payment of ₹50 through a link provided by them so that the same seat could be allotted again. Since I had already paid for the seat during the original booking, I fail to understand why any further amount was required for retaining the same allocated seat.
I consider this an unfair and unjustified charge. If a seat has already been paid for and officially allotted, there should be no requirement for a second payment to retain that seat.
Therefore, I request you to:
1. Refund the additional Rs 50 collected from me.
2. Clarify why the pre-paid seat was shown as chargeable again during web check-in.
3. Ensure that such instances do not occur in future, causing inconvenience to passengers.
I request an early resolution of this matter and confirmation of the refund.
