Subject: File Reference - DELAI34359. PNR - G42EA6 - Compensation Claim
Please reimburse the following expenses –
- Delay of 7 bags till Jan 9, 2011 (delayed by 4 days).
- 2 bags are torn and will need to be compensated - INR 6,000
- These bags were not cleared in customs by your employees, and I spent nearly 2 hours waiting to collect it with my family waiting outside the airport
- Taxi Fare for pick-up Rs 2900 on Jan 9, 2011
- 2 bags delivered on Jan 12 (delayed by 7 days)
- 1 bag completely damaged and another delivered in polythene bag =INR 3,000
- According to your 'Citizens Charter" - compensation of INR 3000 per passenger =12,000 INR
- We have relocated from USA and had no access to any personal belongings - nor offered any help by Air India
- Two bottles of Perfume missing from bag along with 1 Nintendo game - 65 USD X 2 + 190 USD =USD 320 = INR 14,400
This amounts to total loss of = 6000+2900+3000+12000+14400 = INR 38,300.
I will not count the innumerable calls made to follow up, and inconvenience.
Rajesh and Sree (Air India employees in Bangalore ) are aware and were helpful, but they seemed completely helpless with the situation.
If you are not the right contacts in Air India, please let me know email IDs of the responsible people.
