Complaint Details
I had hired a Fast Track Cab for a drop from Triplicane to Chennai Central on June 17 2014 at 7am.
The normal practice for a driver is to intimate the customer of his arrival. Even beyond 7 am i did not receive any call from the driver. Not only did the driver not call me to intimate me, when i called him, he says he has already arrived and has been waiting at the entrance.
Before i even boarded the cab, I was unpleasantly surprised when i saw the meter already showing a waiting charge !!
After a big argument that the driver is supposed to inform the customer of his arrival and that waiting charges will not be applicable, the driver reluctantly reset the waiting timer. This is not the first time a fast track driver has tried to wrongly bill waiting charges. Further, all along the way to the destination, he was constantly shouting that the customer should come down and wait for the cab and that drivers are not expected to call and intimate customers of their arrival. At one point, he even stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road and threatened to drop me off in the middle of the road ! Given my urgency in catching a train, i did not want to pursue the argument any further.
This arrogant behavior among fast track drivers is becoming increasingly common. The previous time i had an equally harrowing experience when the driver started shouting in front of my apartment for similar reasons. One time the driver went off in a totally wrong and circuitous route and threatened to drop me off in the middle of the road. The drivers are arrogant and scream at the customers and with fast track cabs being a big player in the market, no action is being taken towards any of the complaints. While i have decided not to use fast track anymore, i want to file a complaint and file for damages for mental agony and tension. Surely, i do not need this tension and agony when i have a train to catch in the next few minutes.
