Complaint Details
Dear Sir/Madam,
I had taken a credit card of Standard Chartered Bank sometime in 2004-2005 through an agent of Standard Chartered Bank who had come to my office. Initially the billing was fine but later I was charged surcharge over the amount spend by me even though the entire amount was deposited in the Standard Chartered Bank by the 7-10 of the succeeding month as per the existing norms of the Bank. Despite repeated complaints lodged by the customer care officials of the bank, the issue was not resolved and I kept on getting bills with surcharge which compounded every month. Subsequently out of sheer disgust I destroyed the credit card and informed the customer care officials about the same and told them to discontinue sending me the bills as I used to clear the complete outstanding dues by the 7-10 of every month which does not warrant imposition of surcharge. I stopped getting the bills after sometime in the year 2006-2007 and the matter was thought of as settled. Now after nearly 8 years I have got a e-mail from the bank which states that I have outstanding dues of Rs 45567/- which is absolutely shocking and atrocious. This just reflects the callous attitude and misfunctioning of the bank which had led to severe mental harassment then and now again. I request you to kindly reprimand the bank accordingly and provide financial relief as deemed appropriate by you.
