This shares my extremely bitter experience in dealing with Royal Enfield and seeks to understand why I should not be approaching consumer court to address my grievance.

I purchased a Royal Enfield ThunderBird 500 CC from Mumbai Bandra W store. I took the delivery of the vehicle on 29th June. The salesperson made us up our vehicle from 350 CC citing more reliability and better vehicle. This was important to us gien that we were planning long cruises (Mumbai to Leh)

The day after i got the delivery, the vehicle broke down on the extremely busy LBS road in Mumbai. I called your service center, no one picked. I called the store, no one picked up. No road side mechani was willing to touch since it was a one day old vehicle. A help full person towed me to a nearby place after seeing me struggle for almost an hour with the vehicle.

I took it to your shop and they sent it to the workshop where it was then handed back to me after 5 hours or so.

I chose to ignore thinking that this happens and RE has addressed the issue. No one should be blamed.

Yesterday again the vehicle broke down. This time on the Western Expressway. It was morning around 10AM. I called 3 of your service centers, no one picked up. I had the number of Bandra store and I called him, did not pick up. I sent him a message saying, i am in big trouble and if he can have some one sent from a work shop since they were not responding to me. No response back.

My wife then went to the show room in Bandra. It was then that a person very reluctantly directed her to a workshop number.

They came after 1 hour. Took the vehicle to their service center. It was 1 PM. I asked by when will the vehicle get fixed. They said, they will break for lunch in 10 mins. Will look only after 1 hour. Remember, I was out since morning with a broken RE. No b/Fast No lunch and your team needs to have lunch. Any way I waited and still no out put. I was told maybe 10 mins maybe a full day, no idea when it can get fixed.

I left the vehicle there and came home since i had other meetings all of which got delayed due to the issue with the bike

It is almost 24 hours now. No update on the status/ call to let me know if the vehicle is fixed etc. The workshop is extremely far from my house and i am still wondering how will i get there.

Please help me understand why I should not approach consumer court against RE for Mental Harassment, Threat to self and others life and becoming a traffic hazard as a result of RE's delivering a faulty product even after a workshop visit .
