This is a complaint regarding the poor after sales service by LENOVO.
I bought a lenovo G500s laptop with (on 8th july 2014) serial #CB30252447 on
11th may 2014.
Before two months of usage, one day after switching on the laptop,
I found that there is rounded circle type black spot on the left bottom
side of the screen. I thought it was an insect or something. Next day,
when I turned on the laptop, the area of black spot had increased and it
started looking like of a diamond shape. So on the very next day,
I took the laptop to lenovo service center (on 10th july 2014) in sector 34 A, Chandigarh,India. They inspected the issue, I logged the service request to Lenovo via phone with SO NO. 70-21418223. The engineer in service center said they have ordered the replacement lcd. I will get the laptop serviced in one or two days. But on 16th of july, 2014 I got a call from the service center that the LCD issue in not covered under warranty as this is an internal bleeding in LCD so this will be done on chargeable basis.
They also forwarded me the mail they got from the technical manager of lenovo in bangalore. It is a very shameful act done by the company. The lcd was faulty and they converted the issue to be a damage. I too have an hp laptop for last 6 years and it is well and good yet. But the quality of this lenovo laptop is
worst than worst. Instead of changing the lcd, they are asking for money. The total cost of laptop is INR 30000 approx. and they are asking INR 9000+ (which is nearly 33% of original cost),for replacing the LCD. So,
I want this issue to be resolved and LCD to be replaced under warranty as soon as possible until I file a complaint regarding
this in the consumer court.
