Complaint Details
I booked a ticket(PNR No.-2354524165) for Dehradun to Lucknow and on the date of journey (20 february,2014) it was informed that the train was cancelled. I tried for cancellation of ticket, however due to technical problem on the site of irctc, I was not able to either cancel or file TDR for the same. The same was also conveyed to the customer care of the IRCTC also, but they kept me on hold and could not provide me with valid solution. The same was conveyed to the authority by the mail as mentioned below after which the TDR was filled by them only. Further I got a mail that my TDR could not be processed due to lapse of time.I contacted to the customer care but they were itself sonfused of the time period and i could not get any refunds as such.
Due to such a cancellation of train I missed my competition for the Amity National moot court competition for which I was preparing for more than a month and also had paid 1500 as for registration for the competition which is also gone in vain. further I just demanded for refund of my ticket money for which I am entitled to as my its my money which has been used and there is no discrepancy on my part as i got a confirmed ticket and rather the train was cancelled by Indian railways and i have no role in it , so they are entitled to return at least my money ie.-the ticket charges ie.- Rs. 2242 as Indian railways is not in any of the circumstances is entitled to this money.
I have tried for the refund many times and all I could get is loss of time and mental harassment.i have requested them stating that it was defects on their part and please refund my ticket charges but no steps were taken and finally they denied to refund stating their was lapse in time period in filing the TDR whic was a fault on their part as their was technical default in their site.
