Complaint Details
This is a complaint against breaching of trust by Stayzila.com during booking a hotel through the website of Stayzila.com.

On the 2nd October, 2014, I booked two double bed rooms at Ooty through Stayzila.com official website, during the 3-6th of October, 2014 (three days) paying 10% of the total cost (Rs. 568/-) through internet. After a couple of hours, Stayzila.com confirmed my booking at Suriya Holiday Inn, Udagamandalam, through phone as well as email. My order number was
364080-5386-1412227784

Based on the confirmation, I hired a cab for the tour from my residence (SriCity, Chittoor Dt., AP- 517588) to Ooty with my wife and my parents (67 years and 60 years of ages). Since my father is an Alzheimer's patient, I would not have ventured to Ooty, had Stayzila.com not given me the confirmation. Also I confirmed my booking by several phone calls to Stayzila.com.

On 3rd October, 2014 evening, when I was about to reach Ooty, I called Mr. Sankar, the contact person in the hotel Suriya Holiday Inn, to give my expected time of arrival at the hotel. To my utter disbelief, Mr. Sankar informed me that, they do not have any vacant room and hence they could not give a room to us although we had an already confirmed booking!!

Then I contacted Stayzila.com through phone. A lady received my call and assured me to call me within half an hour. After 45 minutes passed and still the lady did not turn up, I tried to contact Stayzila.com again. After several trials I finally could contact another person and reported the whole story again. He assured me to reply me in some minutes. But I did not receive any call from him either. I tried several times to contact Stayzila.com, but my phone was kept on holding each time. I have never faced this kind of harassment from any booking website before and I think I do not need to explain the extreme anger and shock we faced at that time (with my aged parents).

I think this is a clear case of breaching of trust by Stayzila and an appropriate action should be taken. As this incident led to spoiling the entire tour (no hotel rooms in Ooty were available at that peak season time), so the amount of money spent on traveling to Ooty and back to SriCity should necessarily be reimbursed alongwith the payment (Rs. 568/-) we have already made for the booking. The amount of money spent in traveling is Rs. 15370/- (excluding toll taxes).

I have informed the whole story, demanding the refund of money, to Stayzila on the 7th October, 2014, but they did not reply. I hope that you understand that this is really a serious fault and the persons involved in such irresponsible activity should be punished to avoid such incidents in future. Otherwise this kind of unwanted activities will grow up in future and it will be difficult for the common people to trust on any service provider.

I hope you will agree with me and take necessary steps so that this kind of activities do not become a usual incident. Thanks and regards,

Dr. Snehasis Mukherjee
