My Airtel Digital TV customer id is: 3008437051

I booked a customer an additional HD settop box on 24th Oct'14 through Airtel the phone (12150) from my Airtel mobile. They told me that the cost is Rs.1815 and I get one month free subscription on by box (and subsequently Rs.250 per month).

On 25th Oct'14 - they came and installed the box and the line man collected Rs.1815 and went away. I got a call subsequently from your customer care to confirm the amount and plan. I was told that I'll get one month free service on it.

On 23rd Oct'14 - the balance in my account was Rs.320+

However today (28th Oct'14) I find that my airtel connection is disabled b'coz of 'no balance' in my account. I was SHOCKED to find out that you have deducted Rs.310 additional for "BOX NRC" from my account without any intimation or reason.

I called up your customer care and registered complaints 40814462 (Name: Sujith) and 40814645. The executive told me that they'll listen to the recorded conversation of me booking the settop box and refund the money.

Some one from finance called me back and said that he cannot refund the money at all. He told me that I was given wrong information - clearly Airtel's problem. I argued with him on the fault on Airtel's part - but he was RUDE and kept saying that nothing can be done. After a while he just bluntly CUT THE CALL.

Airtel has not only wrongfully took my money without any notification, they are also refusing to correct their mistake by providing me a refund and also they are behaving in a very rude manner with the customer.

This is clearly a case of deficient service and fraud.

This has caused the following damages to me:

1. This has caused a waste of my time following up with Airtel for a resolution

2. This has caused mental agony of being cheated and the rudeness of their customer executives

3. I have incurred financial loss because of overcharging my pre-paid account.

I expect a complete refund of the excessive charging and a penalty for the mental agony and wasting of my time of Rs.25,000 from Airtel.
