Complaint Details
Respected Sir,
With due respect I want to say that my Husband Late Shri Zeenat Rai Chopra had taken Policies bearing Number 130487378 amounting to Rs. 30,000/- and 130486317 for Rs. 25,000/- from LIC of India, Branch Officer, Opp S.P.'s Office, Jalandhar City through Agent Mr. J.P. Singh.
Sir, my husband Sh. Zeenat Rai Chopra had expired on 10.11.1991 at PGI Chandigarh due to Heart Attack. After their death, I had requested to LIC of India to settle the claim against 2 policies, the Officials of LIC send a letter No: Ref: Claims/Death dated 18.11.1991 to know about cause of death when we replied them, they suddenly denied to pay the Insured amount and blame us that while taking LIC Scheme we had made deliberate mis-statements and with held material information from us regarding health. They also blamed us that my husband was suffering from diabetes. At the time of giving policy, the Doctors of LIC had examined my husband and on that time there is no diabetes as per their doctor. How it is possible. Sir, it is also pertinent to say that my husband also taken LIC policies for my son and till date he is genuinely submitting all the installments in time.
Sir, I want to raise a question to LIC authorities that at the time of covering a person under Insurance, the agents and officials of LIC behaves like a friends and use to convince a person with wrong commitments that please take a policy from us and we are always ready to serve you etc. but after mishappening with any body they immediately turned their face. LIC authorities behaves like merciless people at that time when we were in need of financial help because we does not have any monthly income and it was very difficult for us to survive in the absence of my husbad.
Sir, I also want to mention that the cause of death of my husband is Heart Attack not by diabetes.
Sir, yesterday I read in news paper Dainik Bhaskar that Government/IRDA has instructed all the Insurance Companies to settle the old cases. Sir I am 64 yrs old widow and having no source of income. Sir for Humanity sake, I humbly request you to please instruct LIC of India to please help me and provide me amount of Rs. 55000/- + death benefits as now I am in need of money.
Sir, I wish I will definitely got justice from your side.
Thanking you,
(VEENA CHOPRA)
