Complaint Details
I purchased a Dell Inspiron All-in-One on 31-Dec-11 with warranty period of 3 years expiring on 31-12-14. The display of the desktop went blank in the first week of October 14. Dell promptly dispatched a display screen and the technician found out that it was not for the computer model I had. It went on like this for almost 2 months with wrong parts dispatched or the technicians were not able to repair the machine. Most parts like RAM, Motherboard, Graphic Card, etc were replaced. And on 3-Nov-14 the display came back on the computer screen BUT the internal speakers were now not responding. This was the result of the machine being opened and fixed several times during the 2 months. Dell supplied external speakers with an assurance that they do not have the compatible speaker for my computer model. When I asked when the internal speakers would be supplied they reverted that the complain has been closed since I have been supplied with the external speakers.
I told them that external speakers was a temporary arrangement but they said that since the model of the computer I owned was now discountinued, the internal speakers would not be available in the near future. So I requested them to confirm this in writing that the internal speakers would be replaced as and when the stock is available and without any cost to me since the machine was under warranty and Dell could not supply the compatible part. They refused saying that it is not their policy to give in writng and everything is conveyed by phone.

My complaint is that the internal speakers must be replaced since it was the technicians who had mishandled the machine while dismatling and refixing it several times. If not then the presne tmachine may be relplaced with a model which is presently under production and the spares are readily available.
