i had a bombay dehradun flight on 20th dec with jet airways.there was a connecting flight from del to dehradun .my flight from mumbai was at 2:35 pm and from delhi to dehradun @ 5:20 and these flights were booked through easemytrip.in. i reached airport at 1 on 20th and reached the counter for the boarding pass.the lady at the counter(priyanka) could not see the del dun flight number in her system to print the boarding pass..It took 2-3 other of her colleagues to figure out that the flight was no more there.They told me that the connecting flight from delhi to dehradun had been preponed to 3:30 from 5:20 and now i had a misconnect.when i asked them why was i not informed about the same they agreed that they had not sent the message across to me. not sure when they decided to prepone or cancel the flight but i was not informed about this. they told me that now the only option i had was to go by next day's flight! for no fault of my own I was stuck at mumbai airport for 4 hours trying to figure out what to do. Since there was no other option and all flights by other airlines had also departed i had to agree to take next day's flight. They refused to make any arrangements for my stay.I am a girl and was travelling alone and this scared me .However they refused to provide any assistance and said that i will have to make my own arrangements for the night.I asked them to write this on their letter head which initially they refused to do but after standing at the airport for another 2 hrs they finally gave me a statement on their letter in which they acknowledge that they didnt give me the message about the preponement of their flight.
I had also gone to the airport manager at mumbai airport and lodged a complaint but it makes me feel that the airlines here seem to be very irresponsible and do whatever they want to do .
I am attaching here with the ticket that was issued to me and no communication was made henceforth about any flight preponement or cancellation
Later on i had written to them on their customer support to complaint about the same but the reply i got again said that they had done whatever their policy allows them to do.does their policy justify them merging a flight with some earlier flight without any information to the guest?
I was stuck at the airport for 4 hours while they took their own sweet time to figure things out
2) i am already pressed for time and get very few leaves and i lost 1 whole day all because they preponed my connecting flight and didnt inform me
3) i had to figure out my own arrangements to stay for the night
I want compensatory damages from the airlines 1) for mental harassment and agony i have went through 2) making me miss my flight and delaying my schedule by 1 day 3) accommodation and travel compensation which they didnt make any arrangements for
