I am writing this email to notify you if my recent experience with your so called esteemed airlines. I had a booking from London-Mumbai-Goa on 15th Dec 2014 PNR : NICMQE, my name is Evia Cardozo and the return journey is on 4th jan 2015 which I doubt I will fly with you. The treatment given by your staff was horrendous and mean and not at all helpful. I was handed over the boarding pass of both my flights at London Heathrow and I was supposed to claim the baggage at Mumbai airport to clear customs.
The journey went fine until Mumbai upto the clearing of customs. I was asked to check-in my bags for the Mumbai-Goa journey, and I did . However the personnel didn’t hand over the baggage tag to me nor stick it on the boarding pass, nor did she stick them on my bags. She just allowed the bags inside on the trolley and handed over my boarding pass.
After getting to the domestic terminal and completing the security clearance, I was waiting to board the flight which was scheduled at 3:00 PM. As per my ticket the flight number is 9W 7187, but the actual flight that day was QR4384. The announcement was made that the flight is delayed , and the departure time was scheduled to 16.35.
At around 16.10, the status changed to Boarding on the LCD and it said via Gate 15. So I stood in the long queue of Gate 15, and when I reached in front after a considerable amount of time, I noticed it was boarding of the Delhi flight.
I approached the counter and they informed me that the Goa boarding for my flight is closed. Even after so many requests the staff didn’t allow me to board, I have been waiting for the flight for 3 hours in the seating area. When I asked about my bags, they said they have been offloaded. First of all, how could the bags be offloaded without making an announcement? To that I was told that the Mumbai airport is a silent airport. Then how come the announcement was made about the delay? And while I was sitting there, the personnels of other airlines like goAir and Indigo came and announced to the crowd.
My plight did not end with this, considering how important it was for me to get back home that day, your staff should have been at least courteous and helpful, but they just tried to get rid of me even though I was in tears and requested them so much that I needed to get back home to see my father who was ailing in the hospital.
One of your staff accompanied me and said she will take me to counter Jet airways and we will speak to them about the tickets and blindly I believed her, hell did I know that they just wanted to get me out of the airport so that I could not enter. And once I came out I checked at the counter and I was told the next flight was only available on the next day afternoon and asked me to pay for it. They refused to refund the flight amount as well as the baggage amount.
I was standing outside without my bags , after about 10-15 requests I was handed over my bags and all the baggage tags of my London-Mumbai journey was ripped. When I asked the guys to return the tags, he bluntly refused. They also ripped the baggage tags from my boarding pass and handed over to me. But they refused to hand over the boarding pass of the mumbai-goa flight. I am pretty sure that my bags were not checked in itself and my ticket was sold to some other passenger.
I had to find other ways to reach my destination which was expensive and rather torturing.
I am ashamed and find it unbelievable that an international airlines like Jet airways could treat their passenger this way. I have travelled internationally to so many countries and have used different airlines, but JET AIRWAYS IS BY FAR THE WORST AND THE MOST TERRIBLE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AIRLINES.
I have a return journey on the 4th Jan to London, I do not wish to travel by your airlines anymore, never again in the future. I hope some action will be taken against this. Also, please initiate a refund of my ticket and what is the refund I will get if I cancel my ticket?
I will ensure this goes on all the networking sites so people know what torture you put people through. I will also file a case in the consumer court against the staff in Mumbai and Jet airways in general. I am horribly dissatisfied with your airlines, how I wish I had never booked with you, atleast I would have a pleasant experience travelling and would be home on time.
