Complaint Details
Looking at my upcoming expenditure for my marriage in July, I applied for a SBI Air India Platinum Card which has certain benefits in the form of Air India miles after achieving certain expenditure milestones. Firstly I was issued a wrong card (Another Platinum card without Air India tie up). I informed SBI about the same and it was told to me by Md. Younus (Sales Manager in SBI) that I should start using this card and meanwhile apply for a change of card and as the two cards are of the same category the expenditure will be transferred to the new card whenever it is issued. After using it for around 6.5 lacs and doing continuous follow up on the change of the card, one fine day I realized that SBI has cancelled my existing card and neither did they issue a replacement card nor did they transfer the benefits of achieving the 6.5lacs milestone (which would be around 60,000 Air India miles). Currently they are not responding to any of my queries.
I chose this card while comparing cards from other banks considering it is a govt bank and the benefits on a 10lac spend is good. Now I am at a loss with absolutely no answer from SBI.
