I travelled to from Lucknow to Colombo via flights Jet Airways flights 9W360 and 9W252 on 25 April 2015. The baggage was though checked in from Lucknow to Colombo. I had three pieces of checked in luggage. The suitcase with baggage tag no 3589 9W107298 had among its contents some jewellery. On opening this particular suitcase, it was discovered that a jewel box with a diamond nose pin was broken, another box (that also contained a diamond nose pin) was intact but the nose pin was missing and one other pouch with 4 gold bangles (kadas) was also missing. On further examination, it was discovered that a gold pendant from a pearl necklace has been expertly cut out and one matching earring also missing. The job has been so well done that the pearl necklace has not broken at all. Similarly, gold earrings of another set are also missing.

All checked in baggage was locked in Lucknow.

The lock on this suitcase was broken.

I have lodged a complaint with the airlines (Jet Airways), but they seem blasé about it.
