Complaint Details
I received four SMS on 14th Feb 2015 of four fraudulent transaction on my credit Card. I immediately called phone banking and blocked my card. And raised the objection with ICICI BANK. On March Month Credit Card statement there were two transaction was reflecting in my CC statement. Then they cancelled one transaction and still billing me portion of the another transaction of amount 6982.49. When i objected they are saying it was a online transaction and a fraudster used CVV and expiry date correctly and Bank will not cancel the transaction. When asked how Bank accept a online transaction without a One-Time-Password or a 3D secure PIN, Bank come up with answer that OTP or 3D-PIN not Needed for International Merchant transaction. It is unfair to say like this. As when we give the card to any merchant to swipe in to his machine, he sees the name in the front and he also see the Expiry date printed on the front, likewise he see the signature at the back and he sees the CVV as well. That information he will pass to anybody and hence anybody can transact on on my credit card with international merchant. It is unfair and they should have used OTP or 3D-Secure PIN on all transation hence its the fault of bank not followed the mandatory security requirement. Please advise bank to reverse my 6982.49 amount on my credit card. Attached are the complaint filed with bank and their response. Please give a justice. Thank You.
