While paying my credit card bill online in March 2015, I made a mistake in the last 3 digits of the credit card number - instead of 5803, I entered 5308. However, all other details were correct and I even received a sms on the registered mobile regarding successful payment. I brought this to the bank's notice and they reversed all the fines/late payment charges but have not yet reversed the amount of Rs. 7652 to my account in spite of repeated phone calls and emails. I was asked to send scanned pages of my bank passbook showing the amount debited from my account. I did that in May. It has been a frustrating experience as every time I talk to the service rep I am assured of a quick response.
