I had booked a flight Ticket by Makemytrip.com (Agent)on 24/03/15 for myself,wife and child from Chennai to Mum for 22/05/15 by SPICEJETat a Cost ofRs.16,086(Book.ID-NF2201543200617).On 20/05/15, I also received a confirmation email and SMS about my travel along with the E-Tkt, but when I reached Chennai Airport on 22/05/15, I was told by SPICEJET guy that there is no flight from Chennai to Mumbai in evening as per the New Schedule which was changed w.e.f 01/04/15, the intimation of which was also given to the Agent. But I haven’t received any prior intimation about the same and due to this last minute change I had to book another flight from JET Airways same time which cost meRs.40,890, as I had a flight to Africa next morning on 23/05/15.
I have received a refund of Rs. 16,086in my Bank A/c on 27/05/15. After that I had registered a complaint (Compl.Ref.ID-150522-036833/150524-039658/150616-017221/150622-032006/150623-058479) with makemytrip.com via phone on 22/05/15 and by email at least 5 more times demanding a Refund of the additional cost incurred by me of Rs.24,804, till now I have not received any positive response. But they claim that the Airlines had sent an SMS regarding the Flight Cancellation on the Mobile No., I had given during the Booking on 07/05/15, and they also claim that it is not their responsibility to intimate the customer regarding any change in the Flight Status.
I would like to declare that I have not received any intimation about the cancellation. I have also spoken to Spicejet by email, where they claim that they have also intimated the Agent by email well in advance. Now if it indeed was not their responsibility then why did they send me confirmation email and SMS along with the E-tkt to me 2 days before travel?
Hence I would like to make a plea that makemytrip.com should pay me the difference amount which I had to pay in addition to the Initial Cost of the ticket and any sum as penalty as applicable.
