Dear Sirs,
Good Morning !!
Encouraged by your work for consumer protection and rights, I wish to put before you the problem I am facing with M/s PE Electronics Ltd., Andheri (east), Mumbai-400059 (Tel.No.022-61534567).
There was a exhibition at Bandra (West), Mumbai arranged by 'ICE' in last week of Dec.2010/First Week of January,2011. At the above exhibition many reputed companies had put up their stalls directly or with their accredited agents/dealers for Consumer Durable Goods - TVs, Washing Machines, Air-Conditioners, Laptops, Computers etc. etc..
As we wanted to buy some of the above goods, we visited the exhibition on 30-12-2010 as the exhibition will provide an opportunity to see many brands under one roof.
M/s Electrolux and M/s Phillips ( PE ) had displayed their range of products including their latest launches of products with their dealer M/s Snehanjali Retail Pvt. Ltd., Andheri (West), Mumbai-400058.
We selected ELECTROLUX Make Fully Automatic Washing Machine which the company had just launched in India. As the machine was new for Indian market, we were informed by the reps. present there that for the machine, the company is offering a total WARRANTY of 4 - Years i.e 2-years normal warranty and 2-years extended warranty. Further, the reps. confirmed that we shall get the warranty card for 4-years warranty with the supply. The reps. also made a endorsement of the 2+2 Years warranty on back-side of Snehanjali's Bill issued to us. Since we did not get the extended warranty, we took up the matter with Electrolux Company who now says that there was no such scheme of extended warranty but when they were informed of the endorsement on back-side of Snehanjali's Bill, they are silent and even went to an extent of telling us to ask Snehanjali to give that extended warranty. We have also given them names and Cell nos. of their reps. who had entered into the deal with us and had given the endorsement on back-side of Snehanjali's Bill. Needless to mention here that ELECTROLUX - a Swedish company - is a very big name globally for consumer durables and are therefore not at all ready to honor the commitments made by their reps.
I shall now be obliged if you can help me out of the situation and I get the warranty promised to me. I may add here that after installation of the above Washing Machine, the company had to depute their service engineer 4-times in a span of hardly 2-weeks to set right the problem and these visits was finally followed up by Electrolux's Area Service Manager to set right the problem. It is for this reason I am worried about the guarantee, lest the machine fail and I loose my hard earned money for no fault of mine.
I am Senior Citizen and can not afford the luxury of changing electronics items every now and than. Hence, I earnestly request you to please help me out of the catch.
