Complaint Details
We had used www.easemytrip.com to book tickets for 4 of our employees to return from Bombay to Bangalore on 29th February 2016.
On login in, we entered the name and details of our people who would be travelling. We selected the flight Indigo Airlines to travel for 15.50 pm same day 29th February 2016. After the details were entered, and flight was selected, the next process was making the payments. The payments were made and the amount of Rs. 13976 was deducted from the credit card. We had used Axis Bank Credit Card to book the tickets.
We subsequently got a message Attachment – 1 that “Your Tickets are not yet confirmed and would be refunded automatically, if seats would not be available in the same class booked by you.”
We called Easemytrip.com representatives and (1) they confirmed that the tickets were not booked (2) refund would be processed as detailed in the mail. Easemytrip Representative, Mr. Kapil Sharma confirmed that we had called and that there were call log entries.
To confirm the same, we called Indigo Airlines as well, and they too confirmed that the seats were not booked in any of the people’s name.
Once we received this confirmation, we decided to re-try booking from another online airline ticketing company www.makemytrip.com and this time tickets were booked for the same flight Indigo Airlines for the same time 15.50 pm for 29th Feb 2016.
At 13.50, two hours prior to the actual flight, we get a message that the tickets have been confirmed. We called easemytrip.com and questioned the mail, they said the tickets cannot be cancelled less than 2 hours prior to the departure.
We realized we have been cheated.
Since then we have called easemytrip.com representatives every day, with several follow ups and there was no response. We called the CEO Nishant,on his cell number 9811049345 And followed up with mail on his email id ceo@easemytrip.com.
Here is the sequence of events during the day and the questions were raised with easemytrip.com representatives.
Mail no 1 from easemytrip at 11.03 :
(a) Thank you for transacting with EaseMyTrip, Your Booking (BET2294129825) is under process and E-Ticket will be sent to you shortly by a separate e-mail. Note: Your Tickets are not yet confirmed and would be refunded automatically, if seats would not be available in the same class booked by you
(b) PNR and ticket numbers are not mentioned which means the tickets are not booked.
(c) We called Indigo and your company and only confirmation that the tickets were not booked, we booked the tickets with Makemytrip.
Mail no 2. – Ticket confirmation from Easemytrip at 1.50 pm for a flight of 3.50 pm.
(A) Do you think anyone would wait for 3 hours for a confirmation when the date of travel is the same day
(B) Only on due confirmation from your office that the tickets are not booked we booked from another website.
Mail 3: from Shyam:
1. Manipulated the 11.03 mail and sends it back to us by deleting the following statement from the mail:
Thank you for transacting with EaseMyTrip,Your Booking (BET2294129825) is under process and E-Ticket will be sent to you shortly by a separate e-mail. Note: Your Tickets are not yet confirmed and would be refunded automatically, if seats would not be available in the same class booked by you.
2. He forgot that the mail did not have PNR and ticket numbers are not mentioned and shows that there was no issue from your end.
Mail 4: from easemytrip.com:
1. Mail confirmation that refund for the entire amount would be processed for Rs. 12123.
Mail 5. From Deepak, easemytrip.com
Stating that it’s a no show, and refund would be processed for which we received a credit of Rs. 1852 on our credit card on 17th March2016.
Mail 6 to the CEO, Nishant – entire mail conversation. No response from them at all.
We are seeking legal remedy to claim entire refund or Rs. 13976/- In addition back charging legal charges to fight the case.
