Complaint Details
I had booked a contract with VLCC worth Rs65,000 for a slimming package. At the time of booking, I told them that I had thyroid (though it was normal) and they said that that is not a problem. The company overcharged my credit card at the time of booking and didn’t even refund the excess saying they can’t do so. But the problem was even bigger. The time agreed for contract was 3 months (I was supposed to reduce 10kgs in 3 months)
I went to the center for 4 months regularly but the weight only reduced by 1 kg. Apart from that I had serious allergies from their machines. There were several problems on the administration front and the sessions were cancelled due to non- availability of rooms, helpers etc.
I checked with the branch manager repeatedly that there has been no impact and told her that I cannot continue after Jan due to time presuures and asked her what should be done. The manager (Neelam) paid no heed and had me meet the doctor who recommended I go on a crash diet of fruits! The advertising for VLCC says that the weight reduces without crash diets.
Finally I raised this up with the Area head in March (Rupam) that it is not possible to continue forever (it had been 7 months already)and there were no results- and I need a refund of my money.
The company kept on discussing and delaying this for 2 months and finally answered in May that refund was not possible and I might take sessions if I need to- they also said that I can do whatever I want
Does a big company like VLCC just takes money without delivering any services, resorting to false advertising and then doesn’t even care about customers?
